Monday, December 11 round-the-world, round-the-clock prayer! Sign up in the Star Room for a 1/2 hour slot. Recognizing the importance of prayer, in 1727 therewere 24 men and 24 women in the Moravian community of Hernnhut who committed themselves toround-the-clock prayer. Each man and woman prayed for one hour a day for the needs of the church and theKingdom. This prayer chain continued for over 100 years, unbroken and yielding amazing fruit. It was during this time that God led the Moravians to pioneer world missions as we know them. This tradition of round-the-clock prayer was re-instituted in 1957, on the 500th anniversary of the Moravian Church.
Each Moravian congregation around the world is asked to pray for one day. Our day is Monday, December 11: a great birthday gift you can give theSavior! Pray-ers are needed to sign up for a 1/2 hour prayer time. You may pray at home, at work, at church, wherever. Printed prayer requests to guide your prayers for the world-wide Moravian Church will be available in the Star Room when you sign up if you are unable to receive it through e-mail. To those with e-mail, the list will be sent out after you sign up, and it will also be available on our website.
